Gain Levels & Assigning Stat PointsWhen you slay your enemies, you will be rewarded with experience points based on the difficulty of the enemy. As you accumulate experience you will gain levels and each level you gain you will be rewarded some amount of stat points. The higher the level you are the less stat points you are awarded. The maximum level you can get to is 100. Stat points are not changeable after assigned so try to shape your character based on your skill use and what you want your character function to be. ![]() Note: When crafting is implemented, you will also be able to gain experience points by crafting items. Physical StatsPhysical stats contribute to your characters performance when it comes to physical based skills and tasks. For example, stamina helps your character swing faster in combat while strength helps your character deal more damage. See individual skills for more details on how these contribute to your character make up. Determination of HP is 60% Strength and 40% Stamina. Mental StatsMental stats define your character's mental capabilities that contribute to many aspects of your characters makeup. For example, Intelligence helps support success rates in crafting, magical skills and combat as well as enhances the effectiveness of spells. Higher knowledge allows you to gain access to more difficult spells, crafting recipes and allows you to have more spells in your spell book. Determination of MP is 60% Knowledge and 40% Intelligence. Spiritual StatsSpiritual stats help support your character in several skills and tasks. Skills such as Necromancy and Prayer heavily rely on spiritual stats over mental. Other magic skills also make heavy use of the stats for summoning spells and higher level spells. Faith is also a key factor in determining magic resistance and supports success rates in spell casting. Spirit points will become key as you adopt more skills to make use of them. Unlike Mana and Health points spirit points do not rejuvenate on their own over time without the use of the devotion or soul harvesting skills. To restore these points without one of those skills, a player must visit a reverend at a church throughout the world. Determination of SP is 60% Meditation and 40% Faith. Health, Mana and Spirit PointsTracking your health, mana and spirit points are important. These bars can be visible at the top of the game window. Your health bar will also appear under your character when you are not at full health. Mana is primarily used to cast spells. Some skills and spells may also need to use spirit points as a cost as well, this is especially true of necromancy and prayer spells as well as high level spells. The difference between mana and spirit points is that spirit points will not regain on their own. You can regain them either by taking up the Devotion or Soul Harvesting skills, or visiting a reverend or clergy member at a church and asking them to restore your spirit. ![]() Feeding Your CharacterYou will need to feed your character occasionally, if you go to long without feeding your character, your health (HP) regain rate will slow and if you continue to let it go lower, eventually you will starve to death. Skill Gain / ManagementUnlike stat points, skill points are earned on skill use. Some skills are passive and gain on their own, others gain while they are activated and still others like combat skills are used when you swing a mace will gain mace fighting skill points. You will only gain with skills that you have marked as active. (Note: weapons and armor may be equipped without their corresponding skill but you will be penalized and not receive other bonuses associated with the skills) You may activate or deactivate a skill at anytime, when you deactivate a skill there is a 10 point penalty to the deactivated skill. If you ever decide to take it back up, you will have to regain that amount of skill. To activate or deactivate a skill, simply click on the skill you want to activate or deactivate, you will notice that the red X goes to a green check mark and vice versa. Once you click apply at the bottom of the skill dialog, you will be prompted to confirm that you want to make the changes. You are awarded a new skill slot every 20 levels you gain. This number can be adjusted in the world difficulty settings to allow your character to have more or less skills as your character develops. ![]() Using SkillsSome skills need to be "used" or toggled on by the player. To do this drag the skill icon from the skills menu to the action bar at the bottom of the screen. This will assign it a hot key or allow you to click on it there to use it. For more information, please see the manual section on The Action Bar. Additionally it should be noted that your skills determine a title for your character. This isn't fully defined yet but the base of the system is functional and you will notice as your advance/change your skills that your title will also change AttunementAs your character levels, you will automatically be awarded attunement points. Currently, you start the game with 7 attunement points and awarded an additional point for each two levels that your character gains. Attunement allows you to equip magic weapons, armor, rings and amulets. The more powerful the equipment the more points required to equip it. Hence as a low level character, you may not wield high level magic items. You may also the number of attunement points you have through the use of the attunement skill. |
