Understanding World InstancesWhen you first select single player you will be prompted to create a new world. You’ll need to provide a world name, it can be whatever you want it to be; it's just a reference that specific character’s and saves are associated with. ![]() A world can contain multiple characters that can exist in the same “universe” so to speak, even in single player mode; you could share objects between characters through the bank for example. However, the same quests can be completed by each player in the same world. Additionally, you may create multiple worlds, each world can have different difficulty settings for it. We encourage you to experiment with the world difficulty settings for your different worlds, though for your first you may want to try the default settings before experimenting. I am still working to balance some of these settings and look forward to feedback on them. ![]() Note: Since quest state is not shared by players, it is possible to create situations where doors are unlocked that aren’t normally for one character when you advance the game state with another character. This is by design so if you don’t want to do the same quests with the second character, you can still get to areas you unlocked with another. This is useful for when you may have a support character like a miner/blacksmith character. There may be few instances where if you leave a quest in active state on one character, it changes the state of an area in another. I have worked to correct some of the odd cases where this is an issue but I could have definitely missed some cases as quests are the most complicated part of the game because they can change so much with areas, objects, dialog, and characters. |
